On May 3rd, World Press Freedom Day was observed with a unique focus this year on the media’s role in environmental protection and promoting tree planting campaigns. Students from the Journalism Department at the University of Muqdisho took part in the celebration by planting trees in the university’s vast campus, highlighting their commitment to both environmental sustainability and the vital role of media in raising awareness about climate issues.
